Directions to the University
The Department of English is located in the Hamelin Hall (formerly Arts) Building at 70 Laurier (East) on the third floor.

Driving to Ottawa
Arriving from the East: Off Highway 417 West, take the Nicholas St. exit (North). Follow Nicholas until you arrive at Laurier Avenue. Turn Right on Laurier Street. Follow Laurier Street to the 2nd set of lights (Cumberland). Right on Cumberland, then right again. You will arrive at a parking lot that is adjacent to the Simard Building. The arts building is one building over to the North.

Arriving from the West: Off Highway 417 East, take the Nicholas/Lees exit. Follow Nicholas Street to the first set of lights (Laurier Street). Turn right (east) on Laurier Street. Follow Laurier Street to the 2nd set of lights (Cumberland). Right on Cumberland, then right again. You will arrive at a parking lot that is adjacent to the Simard Building. The arts building is one building over to the North.

Taking a cab
The train station is about a 20-minute cab ride to the University of Ottawa and would cost approximately $20 to $25. The bus station is about a 10 minute cab ride to the University of Ottawa and would cost anywhere from $10 to $15. The airport is somewhat further outside the city and may cost anywhere from $25 to $35 by cab.

Taking the public bus
From the Ottawa airport: The OC Transpo bus #97 departs frequently just outside the front doors of the terminal and stops directly in front of the University of Ottawa.

From the Via Rail train station:
From the front exit, follow the walkway to the end, passing over the bus route. Take the stairs down to the bus shelter and get on bus #95, which travels directly to the University.

From the Greyhound bus station:
(bus nos. 1, 4, or 7 northbound) From the front doors, walk left one block and cross at the intersection to the far side of Bank Street. Turn left: the bus stop is one block up. Take busses #1, #4, or #7. These buses will let you off at the Rideau Shopping Centre from which you will have to walk to the University of Ottawa (10 minutes).
