My name is KITAOKA, Daiho (北岡 大歩).
I am currently a PhD student in Linguistics at the University of Ottawa, Canada.
My academic interests include…
(i) the structures of sentences from generative and cognitive perspectives, in particular, the argument structure and movements in Japanese,
(ii) Japanese phonology, focusing on language games (e.g., sakasa-kotoba, zuja-go),
(iii) English school grammar and how to bridge theoretical linguistics (inc. generative grammar and cognitive linguistics) and pedagogy,
(iv) teaching Japanese, and
(v) multilingual signs and pictograms.
