Geneviève A. Bonin is an assistant professor in the department of communication at the University of Ottawa.
Radio is Geneviève’s passion, so it will come as no surprise that her main object of interest is radio. Her research involves the evaluation of the Canadian radio industry (impact of technology in radio newsrooms, uses of social media, financing and innovation of community radio).
Geneviève is also interested in trust building and accountability, media governance and policy, financing and innovation in NPOs, uses of media to assist
vulnerable populations (prisoners in particular).
Geneviève holds a B.A. with honours in communication from the University of Ottawa, a B.J. from the University of King’s College (Halifax), an M.B.A. from the Université du Québec à Montréal (Montreal) and a Ph.D. from McGill University (Montreal).
