Jennifer Muir

Jennifer was born and raised in Ottawa. In 2007, she started her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Ottawa, and graduated in 2011 with a double major in Spanish and French. Determined to learn Spanish to the best of her abilities, during her third year, she did an exchange to Taxco, Guerrero, in Mexico, at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), which turned out to be a both invaluable and enriching experience, as it generated in her another passion: Mexican culture. So much so, that after graduating in 2011, she moved to Mexico City and taught English at a primary school there for almost two years. She is currently back in Ottawa, working as a flight attendant, and a Teaching Assistant for first year Spanish, while studying at the University of Ottawa. She is in the second semester of her Master’s degree in Spanish, studying specifically the works of Mexican author Juan Rulfo, to whom she was first introduced during her studies abroad in Mexico. After her Masters studies she hopes to return to her other passion, teaching Spanish and English, either in Canada or abroad.
