5. und 19. Juni: Leseproben zur Besetzung von Nathan der Weise
Für eine zweisprachige deutsch-englische Inszenierung von G.E. Lessings Nathan der Weise suchen wir noch Schauspielbegeisterte mit fortgeschrittenen oder muttersprachlichen Deutschkenntnissen für einige Rollen. Wir, d.h. eine Gruppe von Theaterbegeisterten aus der deutschen Gemeinde, laden alle Interessierten unverbindlich zu Probelesungen aus der von uns erstellten gekürzten und mit einer Rahmenhandlung versehenen Version des Stückes ein, und zwar Montags am 5. Mai und am 19. Mai jeweils um 19.00 Uhr im Souterrain der Martin-Luther-Kirche, 499 Preston Street. Weitere Informationen und Anmeldung bei Michael Larrass, mklarrass@gmail.com
=> English version: Volunteers needed for production of German play
The next two meetings for the production of Nathan der Weise, scheduled for June 5th and June 19th at 7:00 PM, again at the Martin-Luther-Church at 499 Preston Street, Ottawa, will be for reading the new script in the group. We still need a few more actors, stage helpers, etc. The play will be performed in the original language in the form of a dress rehearsal at which a camera team will be interacting with the cast in English or French so that the German text becomes transparent. Subtitling will be there, too. The actual performance will be in February 2018. The intention of the performance is to enliven the German-speaking cultures in the National Capital Region while at the same time making a timely contribution to the dialogue between our world’s major religions and cultures. 27 June –  26 July 2017: Exhibition “Canada and Germany: Partners from Immigration to Innovation”
International Pavillion, 7 Clarence St. Canada and Germany are partners in many ways. The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany will highlight this partnership through an exhibition that builds a bridge from “immigration to innovation”. This exhibition will present historical events over the centuries, inspiring stories of German immigrants, and innovative bilateral research projects and partnerships. The exhibition will be open Mondays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Information here

5-7 octobre/October 2017: Conférence sur l’impact de la Réforme / Conference on the Impact of the Reformation
1517 – 1867 -2017. De la Réforme à la mondialisation : le Canada, l’Allemagne et le monde / From Reformation to Globalization in Canada, Germany, and the World. The 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s supposed posting of his 95 Theses and the 150th anniversary of the Dominion of Canada will be celebrated with an exhibition of library treasures and an international bilingual academic symposium at Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa, in cooperation with the University of Erfurt (Germany), the Embassy of Germany in Canada, and the Gotha Research Library.
