Un laboratoire pour l’étude des cultures et sociétés Le professeur de B’béri dirige le tout nouveau Laboratoire des médias audiovisuels pour l’étude des cultures et sociétés. « Nous ne voulions pas seulement nous limiter à analyser ce que les autres font mais aussi encourager la créativité et la production de matériel audiovisuel », affirme le directeur du laboratoire. Ce accueillera très prochainement quatre chercheurs en résidence.

A conference entitled “Routes to Freedom: Reflections on the Bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade” was held in Ottawa from March 14-16.
Organized by the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law, this conference focused on the historic realities of the transantlantic slave trade, celebrated the accomplishments of African peoples, and sought to heighten awareness of current conditions. This first session on March 14th, 2008 examined historical perspectives of the abolition of the slave trade.
