Community of Practice

What’s a community of practice? Communities of practice are “groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly” (Etienne Wegner).

The Chair for University of Teaching (Jenepher Lennox Terrion) will be forming a Large Class Teaching Community of Practice to encourage educators at the University of Ottawa to gather, discuss, and share best practices for large class teaching.

When does the community of practice meet? The Large Class Teaching community of practice will meet approx. 4 – 5 times per year. An online forum will facilitate discussion between these periods. The first meeting will take place in early September 2014.

How do I join? If you’re interested in joining the community of practice, let us know by email at uocut.jlt@gmail.com.
