Strata: University of Ottawa Graduate Student History Review

Welcome to Strata, the official journal for graduate students of the Department of History at the University of Ottawa.

Strata is an online, bilingual, peer-reviewed graduate student journal that provides a forum for open debate among graduate-level historians which fosters the development of professional skills through the publishing process. Strata is a student-run initiative and, with the support of the University of Ottawa Department of History, provides a peer-focused experience with opportunities to learn, publish, and develop as scholars. Strata encourages historical discussions and debates on a variety of historical topics in both of Canada’s official languages. In collaboration with the administrative staff and student reviewers, Strata strives to assist graduate students in perfecting their craft of presenting intellectually stimulating ideas and conversations.
